Studio Désiree

At the age of 26, actress Désirée Viola commited suicide. As Princess Roos in the Studio 100-series Prinsessia, many young viewers saw her daily and therefore saying goodbye for these young children can be very difficult. How do you deal with their grief as a parent? Do you talk about suicide with your child? And how do you go about it?

Because it is difficult for parents to know exactly how to start these conversations, Zelfmoordlijn 1813 introduces Studio Désirée (in collaboration with Studio 100), a platform that guides parents in these difficult conversations.

Through this interactive platform, parents receive the "help" of their child's favorite character. Depending on the age, the character asks questions to guide the conversation about suicide. It can give input into the child's processing, such as turning grief into creativity (Would you like to make a drawing for Princess Rose? Shall we sing a song for her?).

Together with the expertise of Zelfmoordlijn and a child psychiatrist (eg Peter Adriaenssens), the questions are formulated in such a way that both parent and child get a better understanding of suicide and so it will be easier to discuss these things in the future.

Because talking helps.
